DataOne will contribute millions of dollars in local tax revenue and is expected to become one of the largest taxpayers in South Jersey, directly supporting local communities, public services, and infrastructure.

The Vineland City Council and mayor approved an ordinance in January 2026, authorizing Data-One a five-year payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) agreement, an annual service charge, to provide tax relief for the Vineland facility and encourage development.

Construction remains ongoing at the site, and union and non-union partnerships prioritize local businesses, creating roughly 1,000 highly skilled, technical construction jobs and roughly 200 permanent on-site jobs. Facility construction is expected to boost job creation across local small businesses in Vineland, such as restaurants and hotels, with 90% of employees local to the area.

We bring in and pay for our own power. We partnered with Bloom Energy to power the project with modular fuel cells installed onsite. This means the electricity is generated and used only for our AI factory, without increasing residential electricity bills. Fuel cells have been around since the 1800s and have powered hospitals, college campuses, and data centers across the U.S. for nearly two decades. They are not new or experimental. What makes them different from a traditional power plant is that they generate electricity without burning anything. Instead of combustion, oxygen from the air combines with a fuel source inside the cell to produce electricity through a controlled electrochemical process. No burning means cleaner air, far less water use, and a much quieter operation.

The facility’s closed-loop cooling system will continuously recycle water onsite. The project will require a one-time fill of 1 million gallons of water, and an annual consumption equivalent to approximately 7 Olympic swimming pools mainly for typical office building use.

The project is classified as a minor emissions source, with power provided by Bloom Energy’s fuel cell technology. The site will operate and adhere to all local, state and federal air quality standards.

The facility is designed to operate at or below noise ordinance levels. This is achieved through combination of fuel cell power, placing the air chillers inside, and using various sound buffering techniques, including acoustical.

The project will be designed and operated in full compliance with all applicable emergency preparedness and environmental protection processes to safeguard both the community and the environment.
