ISO 42001
Nebius is certified for compliance with ISO/IEC 42001, the international standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS).
It defines requirements for governing the AI lifecycle — development, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement — under a framework of documented policy, risk control, and independent audit.
Certification is maintained through annual surveillance audits — to earn it, Nebius underwent a demanding, comprehensive assessment of our AI management practices, examining every requirement of the standard, from risk governance to lifecycle oversight.
Questions and answers
ISO/IEC 42001 is the international standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS). It is the first and only internationally recognized, certifiable standard for AI management. Certification confirms that Nebius has:
- A structured basis for regulatory alignment, including with the EU AI Act
- Systematic identification and mitigation of AI risk
- Independent verification by an accredited third party, in place of self-reported claims
For infrastructure that underpins other organizations' AI systems, this standard of governance is becoming a baseline requirement.
