Most agents start as a thin wrapper around a closed-model API — convenient, but limiting. This talk presents four architecture patterns for building production agents on open-weight models: task-based model selection, context design for inference cost, complexity-aware routing, and targeted fine-tuning. All patterns are connected through a Python reference architecture using OpenAI-compatible endpoints. More details.
